RustSeal is an extremely tough, flexible coating that is highly resistant to mechanical abrasion and impact, guarding against abuse and therefore keeping the substrate completely sealed and the moisture permanently locked out. It is also highly resistant to most aggressive chemicals, including most acids, alkali's, salt, abrasive materials, fertilizers, solvents, oil, and other refined petroleum products. RustSeal, being a thin coating, wets and penetrates the surface down to the origin of the rust. It combines with atmospheric moisture to start the curing process of the resins by expanding interlocking within the pores of the rust. This unique process literally enables the coating to galvanize itself to the substrate, becoming an integral part of the surface. It completely seals the surface, totally blocking all the pores and preventing all access of moisture, air, and water vapor. Unlike other rust paints, RustSeal is a single-component product, so there are no mixing ratios involved. Simply stir and use. In addition, once cured, RustSeal can be top-coated with any top-coat system you choose. RustSeal is capable of adhering to nearly any prepared substrate including (but not limited to) aluminum, cast iron, fiberglass, concrete, wood, carbon fiber, galvanizing, painted surfaces, and may be used as a lead-based paint encapsulation in environmental conditions of 0-500 F degrees. RustSeal's ability to applied in almost any application is enhanced by the fact that unlike other rust primer coatings, RustSeal has moderate UV stability and can withstand direct sunlight for months with out chalking. RustSeal used in conjunction with KBS's unique preparation system of AquaKlean (rapid removal of organic deposits) and RustBlast (powerful rust removal) completes the extremely effective rust protection process. RustSeal is an inexpensive and simple solution to the damaging effects of corrosion.
